The following independent Pinoy films will be screening at the Montreal World Film Festival 2015 (Festival des Films Monde) running from August 27 to September 7, 2015.
Tandem stars JM de Guzman and Nico Antonio. It is a crime drama about a riding-in-tandem duo who find themselves in deeper trouble when they switch from robbery to assassination. King Palisoc’s previous filmmaking efforts include ‘Makina,’ which was part of the 2014 trilogy ‘Bang Bang Alley.’ He also has writing credit for the Sam Milby-Anne Curtis starrer “Babe, I Love You.”
Zig Dulay’s “Bambanti,” was recently screened at Cinemalaya 2015 but it was premiered at the Sinag Maynila. Actresses Alessandra de Rossi and Shamaine Buencamino lead the cast. Dulay’s film before Bambanti, was “M: Mother’s Maiden Name,” a much lauded effort starring Zsa Zsa Padilla.
Veteran actor Lou Veloso is the lead in Ralston Jover’s “Da Dog Show,” about an aging dog trainer striving to live with dignity in poverty. In 2014, Jover wrote “Children’s Show,” which screened at Cinemalaya 2014.
