CineMapúa (January 25-30)
CineMapúa is the annual student video festival of the Mapua Institute of Technology. Now on its 14th round, this digital short film competition is an intercollegiate event where student filmmakers from colleges and universities in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Bulacan are invited to join. Entries are divided into two categories—All Mapuans and Intercollegiate.
The festival runs from January 25 to 30, 2016, with screenings all happening inside the Mapua Intramuros and Makati campuses.

CineMaralita (January 28-29; February 3-5)
Pang-apat na taon na idinaraos ang CineMaralita. Currently sponsored ng National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) at pinapangunahan ng Urban Poor Resource Center of the Philippines, Inc. (UPRCP), nagpapalabas ito ng shorts, full-lengths, at documentaries na tumatalakay sa buhay at mga paghihirap ng mga maralitang taga-lungsod.
Ang pinakapakay ng CineMaralita ay mag-raise ng awareness tungkol sa plight ng urban poor. Actually, hindi siya one-time event. Isa itong travelling filmfest na pinapalabas usually sa mga colleges at unibersidad.
Ngayong 2016, nagtatampok ang CineMaralita ng 35 na iba’t ibang proyekto ng mga gropu at independent filmmakers. Sa University of Makati gaganapin ang huling yugto ng festival kaya’t magkakaroon ng awards ceremony doon sa February 5 matapos ang screening.

CineKabalen (January 30)
The CineKabalen Kapampangan Film Festival (CKFF5) aims to “encourage Kapampangans to create Kapampangan films and contribute to the diversity of Philippine Cinema.” At mukha ngang magaling na motivator ang event na ito dahil ramdam na ramdam ang presence ng Pampanga sa emerging regional cinema sa bansa with full features like Carlo Enciso Cato’s critically-acclaimed ‘Ari: My Life with a King‘ and notable shorts like “Lisyun Qng Geografia” ni Petersen Vargas.
Now on its fifth year, ang CineKabalen ay gaganapin sa January 30, 2016 sa Holy Angel University. Festival director ngayong taong ito si Jason Paul Laxamana na kilalang director ng award-winning film na ‘Ang Magkakabaung‘ at ng upcoming Regal Valentine offering na ‘Love is Blind.’
